Self-Service.Casa

Self-Service Casa is a new concept in hospitality and yet maybe not so new.

The fact is that the world is turning towards self service.  People are demanding rock bottom prices which simply do not make sense from the perspective of the host, if that host is expected to provide service as well.   Most hosts are not bold enough or honest enough to call what they provide self-service, but in reality that is what they essentially expect.  For if you do not clean up after yourself you are likely to get a bad review and your future potential hosts are less likely to approve your stay.

We are however taking self-service to the next level asking you to really make sure everything is ready for the next guests:

• To change the linen before you go.

• To take out the trash, bio-trash and recyclables.

• To make sure nothing wet has been put in the laundry baskets.

• To load the washing machine and hang it up

• To clean the place including floors, kitchen and bathrooms.

• To make sure bathrooms are open, windows are closed and the termostats proporely adjusted.

We make all this easy for you, by providing you what you need, including:

• Plenty of colored cloths for cleaning different types of surfaces

• Window spray for cleaning mirrors and the outside surface of the toilets

• A near silent vacum cleaner

• Plenty of mops, so you do not need to wring them (you just take a new one)

• Labels and instructions

What are the benefits:

• Lower carbon footprint as a service person does not have to get to our place

• More autonomy.  You do not have to adjust your schedule for the cleaner.

• We are able to continue to offer you our fantastic places

• You make our volunteer, community of helpers possible.  (They may or maynot be staying at the same time as you).  These volunteers can then help us with our projects rather than cleaning after guests.

• You help our Charitable Institute

• You free our time to do something more useful for you and or the world.  We would rather be communicating with you than cleaning after you.  We also have plenty to do with our world bettering projects.

We had no choice except to take up this system

• The fact is that charges for peoples stays do not cover the cost of the accommodation, nor would they cover the cost of employees, let alone both

• The combined factors of a sellable price and the number of unbooked nights is too low

• We have two places and other places we have to go to and stay and we can not be everywhere at the same time

• From time to time we have people to help us but we can not relay on those all the time
